James Hope Grant [ edit ]
James Hope Grant Sir, GCB ( Sir James Hope Grant , 1808 Nian 7 22 - March 7, 1875) British officers. Born in Scotland, Perth County . In 1826, he joined the army. In the first Opium War , he won the CB Medal. Then participated in the first British Sikh War . In 1857, the Indian national uprising was suppressed . In 1858, he received the KCB medal. He served as commander of British forces in Hong Kong in 1860 and served as commander of the expeditionary force during the Second Opium War . After the war GCB medal. In 1861, he was appointed commander of India Madras . He returned to China in 1865 and served as chief of the military. In 1870, he served as commander of Idy Salt. March 7, 1875, died in London.
