The four famous traditional mountains that rose during the Japanese rule period in Taiwan are also known as the "Four Major Laws" or "Four Legal Schools."

The new four famous mountains
After the war, with the migration of ethnic groups from other provinces and the development of society, Taiwan has gradually formed four famous contemporary mountains, collectively known as the “Buddhist Orders,” and has since become the most influential four Buddhist organizations in Taiwan.
